General Rules and Conditions
Our number 1 rule is that students come to class ready to learn and have fun.
Be enthusiastic and motivated to be the best you can be.
Fee Rules
- All fees must be paid whether attended or not, no exceptions. If your child is away, they may attend a "make-up" class only if there is another class available.
- All new students in 2012 must be placed on the direct debit system within 2 weeks of their first class.
- Re-enrolling students from 2011 are being given 6 months to swap over to the direct debit system. Students not on the direct debit system need to add 10% to their fees.
- A Late Fee of $20 is automatically charged if your account is 4 weeks overdue and $20 for every 4 weeks thereafter for 2011 students NOT on the direct debit plan.
- We must have one weeks written notice if you are going to change classes. We require 2 weeks written notice if you are discontinuing with classes altogether. Please fill out the required form at any S2S office. Failure to notify us immediately of discontinuing classes altogether will mean you will still be charged for lessons until the relevant form has been completed by you at our office. Refunds cannot be given.
General Rules
- All students must wear correct clothes and correct grooming to all classes.
- Definitely no dangly earrings, watches, bracelets, necklaces or large rings to be worn in class as they are potentially dangerous & distracting. Students are not allowed to wear any loose clothes such as t-shirts, jumpers or jackets as it makes it difficult for teachers to correct postures.
- Students must be ready to enter class on time. Try and arrive approximately 10 minutes before your allocated class time. Lateness will not be tolerated. Please ensure your child is on time for class as it is essential they do a full and complete warm up prior to training.
- Although all due care is taken with all our students, we do not take responsibility for students whilst they are not in class. If your child has a break between classes, it is ultimately the parents responsibility to supervise your child if needed. For students who have a break that exceeds one hour, parental supervision is compulsory.
- Students are not allowed to play outside of the buildings at any time, especially not in any of the car park areas. Please take care when driving in the area, and at the Ambarvale Studio please park your car on Crispsparkle Drive instead of Lightwood St.
- There is to be no smoking in or around any of the Steps 2 Stardom buildings. This includes the Ambarvale verandah & garage, and the Smeaton Grange front area.
- Tap shoes are not allowed to be worn in the toilets or on the slate or tiled areas of Ambarvale or Smeaton Grange.
- All students should be picked up promptly at the end of their last class, especially students whose classes are the last class of the day.
- Siblings of Steps 2 Stardom students, who do not take classes, are not to be left unsupervised at any time at the studios.
- There is to be no eating or drinking upstairs at Ambarvale. A bottle of water is allowed to be taken into class. At Smeaton Grange, absolutely no food or drink to be taken on to the Acro mats at any time.
- Parents need to check the notice board at least once a week.
- No responsibility will be taken for any lost items or injuries whilst at the studio.
- If you choose to be a Steps 2 Stardom dance student, we do not allow our students to take dance classes at other academies, unless it is in a style that we do not teach (such as Irish). With the exception of workshops and Pom Students.
- Photographs and videos taken of students in class and at Steps 2 Stardom functions will be used for promotional and website advertising. If you do not want your child to appear in our advertising or on our website, please let us know.
- We reserve the right to start and finish our dancing Terms to suit the needs of our students and Steps 2 Stardom, not necessarily the same NSW Government School terms.
