Rhiannon Stapley

(Teaches Acrobatics / Tumbling, & Trampoline)

Rhiannon Stapley Rhiannon started dancing at Heather Ireland School of Dance at age 3 in tap jazz ballet and eisteddfods. She achieved honours in various tap jazz and ballet exams for 4 years, receiving the highest examination mark for a dance student in 2000 (ballet).

Rhiannon then began a long and successful career in women's artistic gymnastics at the age of 8 when she was chosen by the AIS in Canberra as a member of the training squad for the 2008 Olympic games which due to an inability to live in Canberra, she declined.

Rhiannon went on to become southern region champion for 4yrs running (2001-2004). She competed at numerous state championships becoming state champion on floor and beam in 2003 and 2004. She competed at national clubs at the AIS in Canberra for 4yrs, winning gold on beam and floor on several occasions.

Rhiannon then began competing in trampolining and tumbling in 2004. She has competed at state championships for 3yrs, becoming state champion in women's 13/14yrs and 15/16yrs age group in trampoline, double mini and tumbling on different occasions and also winning medals in the junior elite category. She was then selected as a member of the NSW state team to compete at nationals in Brisbane and Melbourne for both age and junior elite teams in 2005, 2006, and 2007 with many successes, her best being in 2007 where she placed 5th in Australia in age tumbling, 4th in junior elite tumbling and 6th in double mini trampoline.

Rhiannon travelled to China in 2006 as part of a tumbling squad to train with the Chinese world championship team where she gained great knowledge of many different tumbling techniques and skills. In 2007, Rhiannon was selected to compete at the indo-pacific championships where she competed against many different countries in the pacific and placed an awesome 7th place in tumbling in her age group.

Rhiannon is currently a member of the Steps 2 Stardom competitive cheer team and has been coaching since 2006. Rhiannon currently holds qualifications in Cheerleading, Trampolining and Tumbling, Gymnastics and Fitness. She also holds her Senior First Aid Certificate. She has also had experience coaching children in primary schools. She is currently studying her certificate 3 in childcare.

In 2012, Rhiannon was successful in making the Australian all girl level 5 cheerleading team to represent Australia over in America. She is a part of the 'Dreamgirls' team and will be competing in April.
