Modern

Modern dance is a relatively new form of dance in comparison to styles such Ballet and National Character. It is both expressive and contemporary, ranging in movements that can be lyrical and soft, to abstract and angular.

It has a strong technical basis, and is a very popular form of dance now studied at schools in HSC level. S2S students have had amazing success in Modern, including winning the McDonalds Performing Arts Challenge, extremely high marks in HSC dance, and winners of Championships and Scholarships all over Sydney. Students have also successfully auditioned for many full time courses such as the Victorian College of Arts and Ev & Bow.

Modern students are taken from 7yrs of age.
