43 Steps 2 Stardom students had the privilege of having Marko Panzic and Camilla Jakimowicz from the Australian Series of So You Think You Can Dance Top 20, teach them classes on Saturday 19th July. The workshop included Contemporary, Jazz, JFH and Hip Hop. The excitement of the day started at 9:15am when all of our dancers arrived to register and warm up. I still can not believe all the seniors arrived before the intermediate group! Everybody was buzzing and eagerly awaiting the arrival of Marko and Camilla. They both arrived a little before 10am. It was such a pleasure and honour to meet them both as they were 2 of my personal favourites from the show.

I took them upstairs to be greeted by 43 very excited faces, especially little 9yr old Kayla who ran straight up to Camilla and gave her a big hug. After a quick group photo, the groups separated into 2 rooms, Intermediate and Advanced. Intermediate had Marko first with an amazing Contemporary routine. It was extremely challenging choreography but everyone worked so hard and managed to learn it. A stand out in the class was Hannah, who Marko got to perform the contemporary at the end of the class by herself in front of everyone - well done Hannah!!! In the other room the Advanced students had Camilla in a Jazz class. The energy from that room was fantastic and some of the combo's to "Hot Lunch Jam" were amazing. THe teachers then swapped and the Intermediates had Camilla with a JFH routine. You guys just rocked it - it was an amazing class. In the Advanced room, Marko was teaching a contemporory routine to Celine Dion's "Alone". I think the only word i can use to describe it was WOW!!! The seniors looks like such professionals. The choreography was simply amazing and watching Marko perform it as well was such a treat - he is seriously one AMAZING dancer.

After our fun BBQ lunch, the intermediate student returned to a Hip Hop Class with Marko - how fun was that! Tiarna was Marko's stand out in that class being asked to do it by herself at the end. Incredible work Tiarna. In the Advanced class, Camilla was showing them a JFH routine to PCD's "When I Grow Up". Brilliant work seniors - i loved the power behind those kicks and how much you let go. I absolutely loved watching it and hows about that Camilla - i can not get over how good she was!!!! The last class saw the Intermediates with Camilla doing a Jazz Class, how much fun did you girls have! Camilla was so motivating and caring - she really got the best out of you all! Meanwhile the Advanced group were doing a lyrical hip hop. I was so proud of the seniors, after 4hrs of dance already - you guys were still going strong, focussed and learning such intricate choreography, getting your body to move in ways i have never seen it move before. It was fantastic to watch!

At the end of the workshop, we all came into one room for a Q & A session. Camilla and Marko were so open and friendly and we got to see the real people behind the dancers, as well as some hot gossip from the behind the scenes of SYTYCD. They were both so down to earth and generous. We were so lucky to have them both at S2S.

After everyone had gone. Camilla and Marko spoke to us about how impressed they were with the S2S students. They said it was incredible to find our standard of work in sydney suburbia LOL. They are more than excited to come back and take some more classes.
